“We have got some crucial information after questioning Ananth Narayan Mishra, the victim’s husband, relatives, friends and colleagues. Certain information provided by them has helped us to track culprits behind the murder,” DCP (South) Sonia Narang told Deccan Herald.

No arrests so far

Even though the police have interrogated nine persons, so far no arrests have been made.
It is too early to implicate the victim’s husband in the murder, she said. The murder seems to be a handiwork of insiders. Moreover, the police have established that it was not a murder for gain, said the investigating officers.

Hardly any belongings of Mishra, the victim’s husband, could be spotted in the house. The police are trying to unearth why Ananth Narayan Mishra left for Odisha leaving Payal alone.
The body was handed over to the victim’s parents after the post-mortem, on Sunday. The cremation took place at a burial ground in Chamarajpet.

“So far, we are not aware of any arrests made in connection with Payal’s murder,” said Pavan Surekha, a relative of the victim.
