Last-minute rush to file papers

The Tahsildar’s office in the city was chock-a-block, since the candidates came with hordes of their supporters.

JD(S) candidates for the seven Zilla Panchayat constituencies in Koppal taluk, arrived in a procession under the leadership of MLA and district unit president of the party, Sanganna Karadi, to file their nomination papers. Similarly, candidates of the BJP and Congress came in processions to submit their papers.

This resulted in a traffic jam at Mundaragi Bheemaraya Circle near the Tahsildar’s office.
