Polls: All papers found in order, except four in dist

346 candidates file nomination for 40 ZP seats, 875 for 150 TP seats

Thursday being the last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers, some more candidates who have filed two sets of nomination papers, are expected to withdraw their papers.

As many as 346 candidates including independents have filed their papers for 40 seats and 875 persons have submitted their nomination papers for 150 TP seats in the district.

In Alur taluk, 26 papers have filed their nomination papers for two seats and 64 papers have been filed for 11 TP seats.

In Arkalgud taluk, 58 papers have filed for five ZP seats and 127 papers for 19 TP seats. In Belur, 36 papers have filed papers for five ZP seats and 95 for 17 for TP seats.

 In Arsikere taluk,  47 papers have filed their papers for seven ZP seats and 147 for 26 TP seats.

In Channarayapatna taluk,  50 papers have filed their nomination papers for seven ZP seats and 125 papers for 25 TP seats.

In Hassan taluk, 59 papers have filed their papers for seven ZP seats and 149 papers for 25 TP seats. In Holenarasipur taluk, 43 papers have filed their papers for four ZP seats and 102 papers of 15 TP seats.

In Sakleshpur taluk, 27 papers have filed nomination papers for three ZP  seats and 66 for for 12 seats.

The rejected nomination papers were of independent candidates since they had failed to submit required documents.

The nomination papers of two candidates for TP seats were rejected on the ground that they had not submitted caste certificates in Arsikere and Channarayapatna taluks respectively.
