A time to come together

Last Updated 23 December 2016, 18:33 IST

The message that Archbishop Bernard Moras wants to send out to people this Christmas is to shun negativity, hatred, bitterness and embrace a positive spirit. Christmas signifies the birth of the saviour of the world and this joy is shared by both Christians and non-Christians.

Ask the Archbishop what excites him the most during Christmas and he says, “I am overwhelmed when I see the  vibrant faith among the people. The energy among them is infectious.” He hopes this Christmas will bring people of all faith, caste and creed together to build a stronger and more powerful nation and this, he feels, is possible only when there is peace, love and understanding.

The Archbishop urges the youngsters to take the responsibility, to work towards eliminating poverty and doing their bit to rid the city of the growing garbage menace and also take efforts to keep the city clean. “If someone takes the lead in doing good, then I am sure many will follow suit,” he says.  He feels mankind must work towards spreading goodness rather than animosity.

He hopes that people of all faiths would come together to work towards preserving, respecting and guarding the secular fabric of India.
