Talking to press persons, Superintendent of Police K V Sharathchandra said the police have successfully cracked 13 cases and arrested 25 accused in this connection. A separate police team was constituted by the department to investigate into cases of chain snatching in various layouts of the city, two wheeler lifting, theft and other modes of crime. The police had a clue on gang working behind the scene in chain snatching and they will be brought to book very soon. The police have recovered gold ornaments weighing one kilogram mortgaged at various pawn shops owned by burglars.
They appealed to the pawn shop owners to co-operate with the police help catch the offenders. The traffic police have already started the drive to stop violation of traffic rules by vehicle riders and everyday about 50 cases being booked by the police. Heavy fine will be imposed upon triple riding on two wheelers.
