Primary school children, below 10 years of age, were seen campaigning for Congress candidates Sanapura Gangamma and Bhuvaneshwari Galemma, contesting from the Kurugodu Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat constituencies respectively. Former KPCC president and former minister Allum Veerabhadrappa was also present during the campaigning. Children holding Congress flags were seen participating in a procession as part of the campaign.

Hundreds of daily wage workers took part in the campaign, shouting slogans in favour of the candidates. While adults get Rs 150 a day as wages, the younger ones get Rs 100. Parents are getting their children to miss school and take part in campaigning, along with them. Some of the farmers in the villages complained that they were not getting labourers to work in the fields, due to the campaigning.
