Mystery over cop's death

Hanumantharaju (27) from Doddaballapura is the dead. However, the reason for his death is not yet clear.

According to Hanumantharaju’s friend, the constable was killed on the spot when he came under a train near Home Minister R Ashoka’s official residence near Kumara Park railway parallel road. The accident occurred around 8.20 pm when he was crossing the track to go to the police station for night duty.

However, the police suspect some foul play. Hanumantharaju sustained injuries only on his head and the body was found lying a few metres away from the track, said the police.
The place too is not accident-prone as no mishap occurred there in the last two decades. The train can be seen and heard clearly there, police sources said.
