JD(S) rebel turns 'official' nominee in Bhuvanahalli

Addressing press persons at a news conference, he said that party had issued B forms to JD(S) leaders Srinivasgowda and Swamigowda to file papers from Bhuvanahalli ZP constituency and even the party high command made efforts to convince Swamigowda to withdraw his papers on the last day for withdrawal of nominations, on last Thursday.

However, they failed. Swamigowda remained in the fray as a rebel candidate. The party convinced Srinivasgowda, who the official candidate to stay neutral and directed him to campaign in favour of Swamigowda. He exuded confidence that JD(S) candidates would get elected from all seven ZP seats including Bhuvanahalli in Hassan taluk. Accusing that BJP is distributing liquor and money to woo the voters to win polls in the district, he said JD(S) had fielded candidates with great potential, with good conduct and rapport with public unlike BJP fielded money bags. 

About 11 Yalagunda Gram Panchayat members including its Vice president Nagaraju joined JD(S) after deserting Congress. The district unit of the party has requested former prime minister H D Deve Gowda to hold campaign in the district. Irrespective of this, the party has already intensified the campaign under the leadership of MLA H D Revanna, MLC Patel Shivaram and other leaders. JD(S) leaders Rajegowda, Sangam were present at the meet.
