Ministers engaged in real estate business: Rai

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Rai said that the major achievements made by the BJP government is the series of corruption and land scams. “While the BJP is gearing up to face elections with the money power, the Congress is all set to face the challenge,” he added.

The BJP government has not implemented any schemes in the State. In fact, the schemes including Sarva Shiksha Abhiyana, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee, National Rural Health Mission, National Horticulture Mission and Mid-day meals are announced by the Central government, he said.

“Within 30 months, the BJP government could not distribute at least 100 houses to the poor under Ashraya Scheme in Dakshina Kannada district,” he alleged.

Rai said that the Congress has given more than 50 per cent of the party tickets to youth in the district. Minority and backward were also given due prominence, he said adding that other than the reserved quota, six out 18 general seats in the Zilla Panchayat were also given to backward and minority.
