At a news conference here, he flayed the CM for practising blind belief without visiting the city in the last two -and- a- half years. Yeddyurappa held public meetings in Gundlupet and Santhemarahalli and left the district. No step has been taken to improve literacy rate or to launch the EDUSAT. The government’s promise of making the district ‘hutfree’ has just remained on the paper. Not a single Ashraya house has been built so far. The assurance of providing solar fencing in the villages situated adjacent to forests too has remained unimplemented. The government is yet to give approval to the scheme of supplying drinking water to 166 villages of Chamarajanagar taluk and 132 villages of Gundlupet taluk from the River Kapila. The people were happy when the Government announced of earmarking  ` 100 crores to fill up the tanks from the Kabini reservoir. But the officials concerned never prepared the action plan for this project. The powers of taluk and zilla panchayats have been clipped and they don’t have any say in releasing funds for drinking water schemes.
