Holders Railways call the shots

Powered by Gagandeep Singh’s 26 points, the Railways men trounced Karnataka 111-55. The Indian National team skipper Vishesh Bhriguvanshi chipped in with 18 points for the winners while short power forward Lloyd Anthony came up with a 13-point show which went in vain.

Chandigarh, however, had to battle it out to the final whistle in their 48-47 win against Chattisgarh. Joginder Singh (17)  spurred Chandigarh along nicely while Shyam Sunder (16) gave Chattisgarh enough to arsenal to fight back with but eventually fell one point short.

In the women’s section, Indian Railways, led by Rajini Peter (15), came up with a stirring show to down Karnataka 94-45.   Delhi eves also recorded an impressive victory, sailing past Uttar Pradesh 76-42.
