Kuvempu's 106 th birth anniversary celebrated

At a function organised by Kuvempu PU College here, Dr Kudige said Kuvempu showed what was impossible in the field of literature. There was no subject thought by him. The present day generation should emulate his qualities and adopt his ideals and principles in their life.
The professor said once they had many educated with igh values, committed and creative but finding such persons now is rare. In pre-independence period they had neo-literates and after independence they have literates with blind beliefs.

The youths who have pursued higher education lacked any interest in literature. The younger generation were not aware of literary figures in their towns and cities. First they should understand that why they should to emulate Kuvempu in their life.

The reason for this was Kuvempu fought against injustice meted out to poets.He said such poets were very rare to see now because of literate casteists and communal forces in politics. Kuvempu, a lover of nature, has to take birth again for the enrichment of Kannada literary field.

Deputy Director, Department of PU Education, H Krishnaiah, chairman of Kuvempu Education Society, Srirangappa and Secretary, B E Shivaramegowda were present.
