The start of the match saw a determined Centre of Excellence looking to dominate the pace of the game. CoE made the right moves with Mohammad Yavar and Stalin creating lot of chances, especially through both the flanks.

Nithin Thimmaiah struck as early as in the eighth minute for CoE after a through pass from Cariappa. Nithin after dodging through two defenders slammed home to put his team infront.

Shocked by the reverse, HASC then showed true aggression, regrouping soon to get their act together. Nanaiah and Vineeth Michael took the attack to the opposition with their accurate passing and skilful stick works.

HASC’s netted the equaliser in the 33rd minute when Nayeemuddin latched onto a pass from Abhinav Ganapathy. Both teams went for the half-time at 1-1.  The second half saw the Aircraftmen coming out with more zeal. Dominic helped HASC forwards with his runs on the left flank. Rajesh joined Nayeemuddin and Vineeth in testing CoE’s defence on a few occasions.

As a reward for their relentless sorties, HASC earned a penalty-corner in the 52nd minute and this time Rajesh was spot on in the conversion to fetch a 2-1 lead.

Nayeemuddin then put the result beyond doubt, when he scored in the 65th minute after
a cross from Nanaiah.  Earlier in the day, Maratha Light Infantry split points with Canara Bank after a 2-2 draw. For MLI, Vijay and Ganesh Patil netted in the 24th and 60th minute respectively. Varghese John (55th) and Somanna (66th) found the target for Canara Bank.

Results: MLI: 2 (Vijay 24th, Ganesh Patil 60th) drew Canara Bank: 2 (Varghese John 55th, Somanna 66th). HASC: 3 (Nayeemuddin 33rd, 65th, Rajesh 52nd) bt CoE: 1 (Nithin Thimmaiah 8th).
