Man killed in jumbo attack in Mudigere

Chennaiah, who was also attacked by the jumbo has sustained severe injuries and has been hospitalised. Satish was on his way to a farm to get fodder for the cattle, when the pachyderm attacked him.

Chennaiah, who was in the vicinity, was also attacked. Both were taken to hospital for treatment. Satish died as the treatment proved futile.

The jumbo had damaged a house and a car in the area, sometime ago. There were reports that the elephant had destroyed coffee, paddy, areca, plantain and pepper crops in the past few days. Forest officials have promised to catch the elephant soon.
