H e walks in to buy a bottle of body spray from an extremely good looking woman. Just as the not-so-hot looking man sprays it across his body, the sensuous woman swoons all over him. That is ad-world for you.

Cut to reality. After you run out of small bottle of body spray, or, when you get bored of it, you throw it in the trash bin and buy another one. So cool. Not a thought spared about the dangers it poses to others’ health. Chances are, the urchins who are picking rag can always play with it, try to crush it or open it, thus inhaling poisonous gases.

Till five people paid with their lives, while crushing the empty body spray and room spray cans,  or half-filled bottles that had past the expiry date, hardly many were aware of the ‘lethal’ aspect of this small unsuspecting can, which according to ads should actually enhance one’s capacity to attract the fairer sex. In fact, on every bottle of these sprays, there is a clear note that they are inflammable and should not be punctured open, or crushed or even sprayed near fire sources. But, this reality hit people only after it reduced the scrap yard to cinders. This tragedy hit the city in its face, even before the city recovered from the tragic incident of losing 31 people in Undabatti lake. Ignoring the fine print on bottles, and a small mistake changed the fate of their families forever. Just as the incident unravelled, many on the spot wondered if the small bottle of spray had this potential to kill! Disposing used CFL bulbs without wrapping it up can harm the environment! And, when it comes to playing with dangerous substances, sprays are not the only objects we come in contact with. Batteries and cartridges, some parts from the computer, pest controllers, mosquito repellents in liquid form, alcohol and some fine oils - all can help spread the fire.
Charging phones near cooking place, storing inflammable liquids near gas stove or heating places can be quite hazardous. It is necessary to exercise proper precautions to ensure safety for your family and kids, along with others too!
