Freedom fighter files petition

In his petition, President of Freedom Fighters Welfare Association, 87-year-old G Umapathy has said that the government which spent Rs 52 crore on religious institutions and Rs 5 crore on Rajkumar Trust, has not spent a single rupee on the freedom fighters association.

He has also observed that there are several freedom fighters like him who had participated in the Quit India movement and had served jail term with Mahatma Gandhi. Yet, we have not been accorded with any facilities.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is also a respondent in the case. It is expected to come up for hearing soon.
