After securing their rights to represent Karanataka in the forthcoming Junior Nationals tournament at Agra, both Sherazi and Bhushan started cautiously before the former raced ahead towards the closing stages to clinch the title after the three-hour battle.

Clawin edged out Nehul Jain 659-478 to clinch the third place. In the qualifying round of the snooker tournament being played simultaneously, Duncan Mackenzie and N Shekar registered victories in contrasting styles. Mackenzie outplayed Anil Kumar 3-0 while Shekar had to battle it against Tabrez Khan 3-2.

Mackenzie won the match 55-48, 63-28, 66-06 and Shekar warded off first frame deficit to clinch the tie 33-72, 66-23, 56-26, 28-41, 62-23. After going down 33-72 in the first frame, Shekar got his rhythm back as he then took the next two frames easily 66-23 and 56-26.

Anil raised hope of a fight back winning the third 41-28. However, Shekar kept his cool in the decider to claim the fifth frame 56-26.
