While Gowramma (40), wife of labourer Munaiah, who lives in Bovipalya, Chikkajala, hanged herself with a saree unable to put up with the excruciating stomach pain, a depressed Rathnamma (60) reportedly jumped into a well near Doddajala Lake on Monday morning.
According to the police, Gowramma was suffering from acute stomach pain. When several attempts to get it treated didn’t fructify, she took the extreme step at her house when her family members went to bed after dinner on Monday. Her suicide came to light when Munaiah woke up on Tuesday morning.
Rathnamma was living with her daughter in Vidyanagar Cross. Chikkajala police have booked two cases of unnatural death.
