Speaking to mediapersons after inspecting the stretch , Siddaiah said the BWSSB has replaced the faulty sanitary and water supply pipes which were five-decades old.
The old pipes were replaced as they were corroded and led to potholes in the vicinity.
The BBMP had earlier taken up the initiative to asphalt the road at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. The work is likely to be completed in the next 10 days.
Siddapura ward corporator Udayshankar said two underground pipes -- one water supply pipe and a Bescom line -- have been replaced at a cost of over Rs five crore.
The flow of traffic from Hosur Road towards Wilson Garden, a stretch of about 1.5 km, was blocked after seeking permission from the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), he added.
