40 women protesting attacks on TN fishermen held

The women belonged to different groups representing the fishing community and some local political outfits, police said.The protestors raised slogans demanding an end to the attacks on Tamil Nadu fishermen, saying the community was suffering due to such incidents.

Meanwhile, a section of Madras High Court advocates also staged a protest outside the court complex.
A fisherman from Nagapattinam district was killed and two others injured in an attack allegedly by Sri Lankan Navy yesterday.
