Last Updated 12 July 2009, 17:02 IST

The overflow of water on the semi-circular structure of Chiklihole reservoir, which has no crust gates, attracts tourists. The beauty of reservoir has been doubled as the water overflows like foam on the semi-circular structure due to increase in the inflow. Similarly, the green and serene scenic beauty of the reservoir’s surrounding too make the spot more attractive.

The reservoir, which is of 72.6 meter height, has 0.18 TMC of water stored in it. The reservoir caters the water requirement of 865 hectares of surrounding areas. After Kabini, it is Chiklihole where the water-level has touched the maximum height of the reservoir in the State. Though the monsoon was delayed this year, water in Chiklihole reservoir has already been filled. In 2008, water-level had touched the maximum height in Chiklihole by July 31. However, it has been filled 20 days in advance compared to previous year.
