Speaking at a foundation stone laying ceremony for a Lokayukta office on the ZP office premises, Hegde said the names of elected representatives absent for the event should be removed from the foundation plaque.
Justice Hegde did not spare guests who arrived late for the function. “The names of latecomers should be mentioned in the foundation stone,” he said, urging politicians to learn some discipline. Defending his clan, parliamentarian Nalin Kumar Kateel tried to blame the officials.
“The department officials do not follow protocols properly. The elected representatives receive invites a day before the programme or the same day,” he said.
