Justice D V Shylendra Kumar while hearing a batch of petitions challenging acquisition of land for Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout, directed the civic agency to complete a project on hand before embarking on a new one.

“You are no different from barbers at Tirupati who shave the heads of devotees in a hurry, but not completely,” the judge said in his stinging remark.

The counsel appearing for the petitioners filed a memo seeking original records from the BDA relating to the proposals made to the State government for land acquisition proceedings. He contended that the records are in the office of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.

The court directed the BDA to place all the original records pertaining to the ongoing projects by February 8, the next date of hearing.
