Private educational institutions have effected a steep hike in the fee. Further, The flawed policy of government now provides 5% more seats to private institutions.

Demanding the State government to enact a comprehensive legislation to regulate professional education the protesters demanded a seat sharing ratio of 60:40 between government and private institutions; constitution of two committees to monitor admission and fee policies and determination of tuition fee on the basis of infrastructure facilities at the college. Raghavendra, K Vasanth Kumar, Mahesh, Umashankar and others took part in the protest.
