Kate 'to get diplomacy lessons from Blair's former adviser'

Last Updated 03 May 2018, 05:52 IST

Sir David Manning, a veteran diplomat who already advises Princes William and Harry, is to act as Kate's mentor on foreign affairs, the 'Daily Express' reported. In fact, the veteran foreign affairs expert will prepare 29-year-old Kate for the political side of the job of being a member of the British Royal Family after she marries the 28-year-old second-in-line to the throne on April 29.

Sir David, 61, was Blair's foreign policy adviser in Downing Street between 2001 and 2003 and then served as British ambassador to the US until 2007. He is expected to accompany William and Kate -- who got engaged last October -- on their first few overseas tours after their marriage, the report said.
