Congress workers hit out at JD(S)-BJP nexus in ZP

Last Updated 13 February 2011, 19:12 IST

The police arrested them before they could reach the JD(S) office to protest against the JDS-BJP alliance to assume power at Mysore Zilla Panchayat.

Former mayor M Ramachandrappa and leader of the Opposition in the BBMP M Nagaraj led the protesters. They burnt the effigy of JD(S) State unit president H D Kumaraswamy.

“Kumaraswamy has exposed his party’s pseudo-secular stand by joining hands with the BJP for power. He has lost moral right to criticise the Congress leaders. He should tender an unconditional apology for this,” the leaders urged.

Several Congress party corporators were present.
