Participating at a programme organised to mark the birth anniversary of poet Da Ra Bendre at Rangamandira in BEMLNagar here recently, he said Bendre never enjoyed the celebrity-poet status instead lived a simple life to understand the life.
The programme was jointly organised by Kannada Mirthraru and Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
Kannada Sahitya Parishat, district unit former president M S Ramaprasad and BEML General Manager K Krishnamurthy and Kannada Mithraru organisation president H R Ramanath were present.
On the occasion, prizes were distributed to the winners of rangoli drawing competitions.
Later, local artistes presented Bendre’s compositions.
