<p>John alias Rajiv Kumar, an MBBS student in Patna Medical College and Hospital and his brother Subodh, who had completed a course in radiology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, are now spending sleepless nights in jail after proving their excellence as ‘ghost examinees’ on many occasions. <br /><br />Senior Superintendent of Police of Patna Alok Kumar, after busting the exam racket, said: “Their modus operandi was simple. They replaced the original candidates with ‘ghost examinees’. <br /><br />These students were offered a good amount for appearing for examinations conducted by Railway recruitment board, medical university, banking, police department and Indian Army.”<br /><br />The duo had allegedly become ghost examinees in place of real ones for the selection of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), UP Armed Forces and for vacancies in Punjab and Haryana High Courts. <br /><br />The fee of these ‘exam maniac’ brothers ranges between Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh for every examination.<br /><br />Two more held<br /><br />When the cops swooped down upon the duo, they were in possession of 13 original admit cards of the examination for the Haryana transport conductors’ post, besides Rs 1.06 lakh, six cell phones, three SIM cards, two ATM cards, 28 applications of UP Armed forces exams, photocopies of applications for the post of peon in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana High Courts and pioneer list of the candidates for Army Engineering Forces from them. <br /><br />After interrogation, the police arrested two more members of the gang, Billo Ram and Ishwar, both from Haryana. Raids are on to nab other accused.</p>
