Two persons were arrested today in Singiya village for trying to slaughter 16 cows for in the district here, police said.
On a tip-off, police intercepted a truck which was carrying the cows and arrested the duo, they said, adding their vehicle was also seized.
The accused were taking the cows from Nakodar village of the district to Uttar Pradesh, they said.
