MCC Commissioner K S Raykar told Deccan Herald that the government has prepared a new draft and has already invited objections from the general public. Already, suitable amendements are being made to the Cadre and Recruitment rules (C&R). At present there is one deputy commissioner and two additional posts would be created.

Besides, the corporation would have a new post of additional commissioner who works under the commissioner.

Giving a special impetus to environment, each zone would have two environmental engineers as against one each in every zone in the current scenario. A number of new other posts are being created. The post of zonal assistant commissioner will be re-designated as zonal commissioner with additional powers.

More importantly, Raykar said, there would be inter-corporation transfers for the employees. The idea behind this was to improve efficiency in the functioning of urban local bodies. The restructuring process would start after two months.

The commissioner said that the MCC would be upgrading the existing six Mysoreone Centres by adding another 14 services. Apart from paying property tax, water tax, obtaining trade license even the citizens could obtain ‘khatha’ from those centres. The basic idea was to provide services to the citizens with ease. After 15 or 20 days, the people could apply for the ‘khatha’ at those centres and collect it. The work on this is being carried out by the Department of e-governance. The strength of the corporation would go up after two months, he added.
