<p>There are 87,198 children who are below five years old in the district. Of which, 81,340 children were administered with polio drops. Kundapur taluk has recorded 94 per cent. </p>.<p>In Udupi taluk, polio drops were administered to 36,616 children, thus achieving 94 per cent. Karkala taluk has recorded 95 per cent with 15,239 children being administered with pulse polio drops. <br /><br />The pulse polio drive was inaugurated by Higher Education Minister Dr V S Acharya.</p>
