KHB chief in dark over land deal

“The board had decided to implement a housing project in Chikballapur.  I was told that farmers were ready to sell their land to the project. But I was unaware that the land belonged to Srinivasa Setty. I was kept in dark about it. I had no role in the purchase ,” he added.

He said as chairman he has never insisted farmers to part with their land for any project in the State. “The Opposition during the LS polls had alleged that the land in Chikkaballapur had been purchased from Srinivasa Setty. Soon the Board passed a resolution stalling the project. I have no knowledge of how real estate functions.”
