Army chief to visit US next week

Gen Kapoor will discuss India’s views on the US Af-Pak policy with the Chief of Staff US Army Gen George W Casey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen and CENTCOM commander Gen David H Petraeus.

Discussions on contemporary strategic issues like the Af-Pak Policy and regional security situation are envisaged during the Chief’s visit, army officials said. Gen Kapoor will also discuss the possibility of conducting more joint exercises and purchasing US military hardware.
