Following a tip-off about militants staying along with a woman in the house of a contractor in Dhara Chaka village in Prem Nagar area of the district, police and security forces laid a cordon off the hideout at about 5.45 am. On seeing the security men closing in, militants first hurled grenades and then fired at them who fired back triggering the gunbattle, Doda SSP Prabhat Singh told .
Two militants were killed while a woman staying with them was critically wounded.
