RTO officials now say that all the 10 offices will henceforth be issuing Smart Cards in the City. “Within two months, we also expect the entire State to be connected online,” said an RTO official. In all, there are 55 RTOs in the State.  In a separate conference earlier on Friday, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Praveen Sood, had cited manual records at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) as one reason for lack of compliance of rules among violators and enforcing traffic rules.

“The delay in computerising the RTOs in the City has hindered our process of tracking  violators. Nonetheless, the system of physical checks will be brought down drastically once we have all the 11 RTO records on the computer,” he said.
