Seventy-six-year-old Vishalakshamma’s body was found near the kitchen door and two gold chains, bangles, two expensive ear studs and cash were missing, police said.

The incident came to light when her grandson, Gaurav, a sixth standard, returned home from school in the afternoon.

The police said Vishalakshamma, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, was into money lending business.

Her son, Vasudeva Aradhaya, and daughter-in-law, Veena, used to drop their son to school before going to work.

Vishalakshamma used to be alone at home till her grandson  returned.    The police said there were no signs of forced entry into the house and hence, they suspect it was handiwork of people known to the family.

They also suspected that two persons have involved in the crime.
