The court has also slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 to the accused. If the duo fail to pay the fine, then they will have to undergo another six months imprisonment.
The accused are Samiyulla and Ameerpasha. It was said that the duo had kidnapped C P Ayyanna (10), son of Cheppudira Ponnappa on March 6, 2009 from Ponnampet by saying that he has been asked to take the child to Adichunchanagiri fair.
He was taken to Adichunchanagiri fair on March 7. Later, Samiyulla called Cheppudira Ayyappa’s house and told Cheppudira Dhanalakshmi that their son has been missing. The second accused Ameerpasha called Cheppudira Dhanalakshmi and aksed a sum of Rs 40,000 for releasing Ayyanna. He had even threatened to kill Ayyanna if the couple informed the police.
