Last Updated 09 March 2011, 19:11 IST

In the backdrop of allegations of  “illegal gains’’ received by family members of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, the BJP high command is understood to have summoned him to Delhi for immediate discussions.

Yeddyurappa will arrive here at 10 am and meet senior party leaders. The BJP core committee, which met here in the evening, was said to have taken a serious view of the allegations by JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy that industrialists and educational institutions donated funds to a trust run by Yeddyurappa’s sons.

The leadership briefly discussed the allegations, made public by Kumaraswamy in the presence of top Left leaders like Sitaram Yechuri, A B Bardhan and D Raja, and then decided to hear out Yeddyurappa.  The chief minister was not scheduled to visit Delhi until March 22.
