After all, this is the ground where he scored his first hundred in a test match. Talking about his Bangalore connection, Michael says, “There are so many memories of this City. The most special was the one when I hit my first ton in front of my family members. This is a special ground for me so I hope to score some runs against Kenya this Sunday.”

Now that the team has been here for more than six days, the players had enough time to relax and practice. “We took a couple of days off from practice and caught up with the much needed rest. But we did concentrate on strength and fitness training,” he adds.

With the team being unbeaten so far in the tournament, Michael says that he is keeping his fingers crossed and hopes it follows through the World Cup. He said that the squad wanted to keep improving.

Having seen all the teams play, who is his favourite? “It has to be India. They have some good and strong scorers in the team,” he signs off.
