The General is on a two-day visit to the City, to review various aspects including training, administration and welfare in the army units/establishments in Bangalore.

The Army Commander  visited the newly-constructed Army Public School on Kamaraj Road to review the education facilities. He was accompanied by Sunita Khanna, who heads the Army’s activities relating to welfare of families of Army personnel in Southern Command.

The general officer and his wife were briefed by Manjula Raman, Principal of Army Public School, which has over 2,000 students.

The General later inaugurated the newly-constructed annexe building to the Rajendra Sinhji Institute (RSI) on Kamaraj Road. Army officials said this had been long necessitated due to the increase in strength of retired and serving officers who have settled in Bangalore, or are posted in the City.

The RSI provides a meeting place for the officers and their families, along with recreational and sports facilities.
