JOIN USRanjith (32) was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his house in Babusabpalya on Sunday evening. Ranjith, a carpenter, was married to Sumathi and had two children. Police said Ranjith was an alcoholic and the couple often quarrelled over his addiction.
On Sunday evening, Ranjith returned home in an inebriated state and his wife picked up a quarrel with him. Upset with his wife, Ranjith is said to have gone into the room and committed suicide by hanging.
In another incident, Abdul Jafar (26) was also found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house on Modi Road in Devarajeevanahalli.
Jafar was working as a taxi driver and had quit the job recently. Police said Jafar and his wife fought over the issue and elders in the family had tried to make peace between them.
But in vain. Jafar’s wife had moved to her parents’ house and refused to return. Disappointed with this, he may have committed suicide, police said.
