'Rs 65 cr for hanging bridges in Kalasa'

He was speaking after laying foundation stone for the construction work of hanging bridge at Vashishtashrama in the outskirts of the town on Friday. The bridge will be built at a sum of Rs 68 lakh.

Praising the Moodigere MLA M P Kumarswami for his smartness in convincing the Chief Minister to provide grants for the developmental works of the taluk Bhat said, Kumarswami is performing a commendable job in the taluk and the voters are lucky to have him as the MLA.

The BJP District Secretary Sheshagiri said, the long standing demand of the villagers to provide a hanging bridge that joins Godlumane-Magalu is finally on the path of fulfilment. He reminded of Late Dattatreya Bhat for his efforts in making the people’s dream a reality.

Zilla Panchayat Vice-President Ranganat opined, Chikmagalur district could be converted as a model district if all the five MLAs excise their combined effort. The State government has announced a grant of Rs 30 crore for Malnad Board and the maximum amount of it should be spent for the development of Kalasa hobli, he insisted.The MLA said that bridges will be constructed in Kalasa hobli on priority basis.
