<p>Zilla Panchayat President B D Chandregowda on Wednesday advised newly elected members to understand their powers, duties and jurisdiction and respond to people’s problems.<br /><br />He was speaking after inaugurating one-day training programme for members here.<br /><br />Chief Executive Officer S T Anjankumar said in democracy an ordinary man can occupy highest position. Any person elected from any field has to discharge duty responsibly. <br /><br />Running administration effectively would help in implementation of all programmes. They should guide officials if they come across any shortfalls in development works.<br /><br />Former ZP president and chairman of DCC Bank, C N Balakrishna called upon members to work united for the overall development of the district. They should have cordial relation with taluk and gram panchayat members to achieve progress.<br /><br />Director, Abdul Nazeer Sab Rural Development Institute, Ashraful Hasan explained in detail the functioning of zilla panchayat. ZP V-P Parvathamma Nanjundachar and others were present.</p>
