Local MLA didn't alert farmers: JD(S)

KHB hatched the conspiracy

“Karnataka Housing Board has hatched a conspiracy to take farmers for a ride. The local legislator too has feigned his ignorance. Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy had hinted of the irregularity two months ago itself. The local MLA, must have been in possession of a modicum of information and he should have alerted the farmers.

However, instead of doing so, he has joined hands with influential persons to make money,” he alleged at a press meet here on Saturday.

Charging the local legislator of deceiving farmers, Rajanna declared that an agitation will be launched to protest the raw deal meted out to farmers.

The government, usually collects opinion from local people before implementing any project. It is a norm to arrive at a conclusion after analysing the public opinion. However, no such attempts have been made in this case. “The government is out to loot money by suppressing information from the public,” he alleged.

Rajanna said that a few “influential persons” have taken hold of the lands through General Power of Attorney by paying paltry sum to the farmers. While 30.31 acre of land has been registered in favour of Karnataka Housing Board, these persons are in possession of hundreds of acres of land.

Working president Dhananjaya Reddy, leaders Kundalagurki Venkatesh, Dibburahalli Ramesh, C R Lakshminarayana and others were present.
