Speaking to reporters, he said the Government has disbursed Rs 1,085 crore loan to the beneficiaries over many decades. Accumulated interest on the loan is estimated to be Rs 1,016 crore. The interest component will be waived off on paying the principal amount, he added.
All ownership documents for the property will also be given to those who will pay the principal loan amount. The scheme will benefit about 16 lakh people in the State, the Minister said.
