'Regulations hurting service exports should be reviewed '

“Many of the domestic regulations, which come in the way of higher growth of this (exports in services) sector and also come in the way of FDI inflow should be looked at,” said Finance Ministry Senior Economic Adviser H A C Prasad here. Prasad, who authored Trade segment of the Economic Survey, said barriers such as licensing, qualification requirements,
procedures and technical standards come in the way of services exports. He said service trade has been displaying promising performance with less government support compared to the merchandise.
