In the backdrop of court’s order as many as eight personnel from the court arrived at the AC’s office for attaching the property.

As the Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti promised to solve the problem, the court personnel went back without attaching the property. However, they have warned of attaching the property, if the authorities failed to distribute compensation to the displaced families at the earliest. “As we did not receive the copy of the court order, we could not appeal in the higher court. The problem has arisen owing to the lack of communication. We will take further action after consulting public prosecutor,” said Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti.

The government had fixed Rs 1,100 for one cent of land while acquiring land for the Bajpe airport in 1999. However, the amount was increased in 2000. In the meantime, the displaced families had approached the court demanding higher compensation.

The Court had ordered the authorities to pay a compensation of Rs 7,420 for one cent land to Basheer, Bheepathuma, Badruddin, Hasanabba, Abdul Khader, Sadhu Shetty and Ahammed Beary on March 3, 2010.

The authorities had to give a compensation of Rs 40 lakh to the families. As the government failed to pay the compensation, the court on February 26 ordered for the attaching the property of AC’s office.
