'Ramya issue was blown out of proportion'

Speaking to the mediapersons in Mysore, he brushed aside the recent issue involving actress Ramya as a ‘minor one’ and also criticised director A Ganesh for going to the media and complicating the issue, without discussing it with the actor.

This creates bad impression on Kannada film industry among the general public, he said.

Bad publicity

He also flayed bad publicity the incident generated for Ramya over not participating in the promos of ‘Dandam Dashagunam’, though it was not her mistake completely.

When brought to the notice that KFCC president Basant Kumar Patil had called himself ‘supreme’ to settle issues within the industry, Ambareesh said no one reigned over anyone else here.

“Patil should remember that he took my help too, to resolve the problems during the elections held KFCC president’s post,” he said.

Who is forcing producers to cast Ramya in their films? If they feel she is a problem, let them not approach her to act in their films, he added.

Bypolls

Ruling out chances of him contesting in the Channapatna bypolls, he nonchalantly predicted the fall of BJP government, and would not contest to be a legislator for just two months.
