There are no final words on Yeddyurappa. I’ve checked the facts myself…..”<br /><br />Although he was not in-charge of Karnataka, BJP chief Nitin Gadkari had asked Jaitely to be the trouble-shooter in the recent crisis in Karnataka. <br /><br />Yeddyurappa, who is currently camping in Delhi, is scheduled to call on Jaitley.<br /><br />Jaitley, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, along with politicians from other parties, was speaking on the subject: “Is honesty impossible in Indian politics?”, at the function.<br />Countering Jaitley, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mani Shankar Aiyar remarked: “…The stand of the BJP on (Gujara CM) Narendra Modi and Yeddyurappa is hypocritical.”<br />On the issue of people getting the government they deserve, Jaitley told the gathering: “The more serious problem is that in the world’s largest democracy, there is no transparency in electoral funding. In western countries, there are systems and it is mostly accurate. <br /><br />“Back when I was a student leader, bulk of the funding was made through coupons in small amounts. That system has ended. Political funding now is an invisible colour of money. I categorically believe you can be an honest individual in politics.”</p>
