<p>The owner of a Mysore-based private security agency had moved the Court stating that the varsity had violated the Transparency Act by awarding the tender to the Home Guards.<br /><br />Government counsel R Devdas submitted the institution of the Home Guards was established under a statute and they were defined as public servants to meet any kind of security requirement and disasters. <br /><br />He further submitted that they do not come under the purview of the Transparency Act. Justice B S Patil dismissed the petition.<br /></p>
