HC dismisses petition

The owner of a Mysore-based private security agency had moved the Court stating that the varsity had violated the Transparency Act by awarding the tender to the Home Guards.

Government counsel R Devdas submitted the institution of the Home Guards was established under a statute and they were defined as public servants to meet any kind of security requirement and disasters.

He further submitted that they do not come under the purview of the Transparency Act. Justice B S Patil dismissed the petition.
